By the end, you’ll have a project with a deadline and a client, three deliverables with due dates and owners, and the first one ready to deliver with its file attached.

Before you start

  • A role that can create projects. Owner and Project Manager can by default.
  • The client company in Contacts, and the asset for the first deliverable in your library.

WRITTEN GUIDE

Write down what you’ve promised, when it’s due, and who delivers it.

Harbor & Pine Dairy is launching a new bottle. You’ve promised them a billboard key visual, a 30-second launch spot and a square social post, all before the launch date.

You’ll create one project for that promise, set the deadline, add each result as a deliverable with a due date and an owner, and attach the file that fulfills the first one. A deliverable is the result the client expects; the file is how you keep the promise. Sign in to YetOnePro and open your workspace to follow along.

  1. 01

    Open Projects

A project collects everything you’ve promised one client. In the left sidebar, point to Creative Ops and choose Projects.

  2. 02

Create the project and link the client

Click New project, name it after the work, for example “Harbor & Pine bottle launch,” and click Create project. The project opens on its Overview.

Click No client linked and choose the client company, here Harbor & Pine Dairy. The company comes from your Contacts.

  3. 03

    Set the project deadline

On the Delivery commitment card, click Set a deadline and enter the date you’ve committed to deliver by, for example November 20. The card shows the date and how many days are left.

  4. 04

    Add the first deliverable

Open the Deliverables tab and click Add deliverable. Type the result the client expects, here “Billboard key visual,” and press Enter.

The deliverable’s panel opens. It shows Awaiting delivery because no file is attached yet.

One deliverable per result. Name what the client receives, not the steps to make it. The work inside it is up to your team.
  5. 05

Give it a due date and an owner

In the panel, click Set a due date and pick the date, for example November 6. Then click Unassigned and choose the teammate who delivers it, here Alex Morgan.

Now everyone knows who delivers the billboard, and when.

  6. 06

    Attach the file being delivered

When the file is ready, click + Attach the file being delivered. Search your library, for example for “hero,” select the asset and click Attach 1 file.

The file appears under the deliverable, and the panel says Ready to deliver.

  7. 07

Add the rest the same way

Press Escape to close the panel, then click Add deliverable again. Add “Launch spot, 30 s” with its due date and Jordan Reyes as the owner, then “Social post, square,” also owned by Jordan.

These two have no file yet. Attach one later, when the work is ready.

  8. 08

Read the list and filter by owner

The Deliverables list shows every deliverable with its Due date and Assignee. To see one person’s work, open Filter by assignee and choose them, here Jordan Reyes. Two deliverables are left.

  9. 09

    Check the timeline

Open the Timeline tab. It lays every due date out against today and the project deadline, so a crowded week stands out early.

  10. 10

    Come back to the Overview

Open Overview. The Delivery commitment card shows the deadline and the Next deliverable due, here the billboard key visual.

In short: one project per client promise, one deliverable per result, each with a due date and an owner. Attach the file when it’s ready.

Who can do this. Creating a project needs a role that can create projects: Owner and Project Manager can by default. Media Producers can edit projects and deliverables, but can’t create or delete projects.

Check the result

  • The project shows the client and the deadline under Delivery commitment.
  • Each deliverable in the list has a due date and an owner.
  • The first deliverable shows Ready to deliver, with its file attached.
  • Filter by assignee shows only that teammate’s deliverables.
  • The Timeline shows every due date before the project deadline.

If it didn’t work

I don’t see New project.

Your role can’t create projects. Owner and Project Manager can by default. Media Producers can edit projects and deliverables, but not create them.

My file isn’t in the Attach list.

Search by part of its name, for example “hero.” The list shows the assets in your workspace library, so upload the file to Assets first if it isn’t there yet.

What’s the difference between the deadline and a due date?

The deadline is the date you’ve promised the client for the whole project. Each deliverable has its own due date, usually before the deadline.

Does a deliverable need a file right away?

No. It shows Awaiting delivery until you attach one. Attach the file when it’s ready, and the deliverable becomes Ready to deliver.
