By the end, you’ll have a comment tied to a moment in the video and an outlined area of the frame, which your editor can open with one click.

Before you start

  • A YetOnePro workspace with a video uploaded to Assets.
  • A teammate who will make the change, or a second browser profile to check their view.

WRITTEN GUIDE

Point your editor to one frame and one area.

Your team is finishing a short spot for the Northstar bottle. The brief says the bottle keeps drinks cold for 24 hours, but the end card says 12. You need your editor to fix the headline and leave the rest of the layout alone.

You’ll pause on the wrong frame, outline the headline, and leave an internal note. The comment keeps both the time in the video and the outlined area, so your editor opens exactly that moment with one click. Sign in to YetOnePro and open your workspace to follow along with any video in Assets.

  1. 01

Open the video and pause on the frame

Open Assets in the left sidebar and click the video to open it.

Click the play button at the left end of the player controls and watch until the frame you want to comment on. Click the button again to pause. In this example, the player is paused on the end card at seven seconds, where the headline says “Keeps drinks cold for 12 hours.”

  2. 02

    Outline the area to change

A comment you add now is tied to the moment the player is paused on.

In the player controls, to the right of the timeline, choose Draw a comment. A drawing toolbar appears over the frame. Select the rectangle tool and a color, then confirm the tool with the check mark.

Drag a rectangle around the part of the frame to change — here, the line “for 12 hours.” When you release the mouse, the comment editor opens and your outline stays on the frame.

  3. 03

Write the note and choose who can see it

The comment editor shows the time it is attached to, for example 00:00:07. Check that it matches the frame you meant.

Choose Internal, because this note is for your editor, not the client. Enter: “The end card says 12 hours, but the brief says 24. Please fix the headline and keep the layout.” Click Save.

The comment appears in the list in the right sidebar, and a marker appears on the timeline at the comment’s time. Hover the marker to read the note without leaving the player.

Internal or Client? Internal comments stay with your team. If you later share the video for review, only Client comments appear on the review link.
  4. 04

Open the comment as the editor

When your editor opens the same video, they don’t need to search for the moment. In the Comments tab, they click the comment.

The player moves to seven seconds, the outlined area is highlighted on the frame, and the comment thread opens with the note. Your editor sees what to change and where, on the exact frame.

  5. 05

    Reply in the same thread

When the fix is ready, reply in the open thread: type into the field under the note, for example “Fixed: the headline now says 24 hours,” and click Save.

The feedback, the moment in the video and the reply now stay together in one thread. To close the thread, click outside it.

Check the result

  • The comment shows the time you paused at, for example 00:00:07.
  • A marker for the comment appears on the video timeline.
  • Clicking the comment moves the player to that time and shows your outline on the frame.

If it didn’t work

I can’t find Draw a comment.

Draw a comment is in the player controls of a video, to the right of the timeline. For an image it is in the toolbar under the image. You don’t need to open the Comments tab first.

The client can see my note to the editor.

Open the comment and check its visibility. Notes for your team must be set to Internal; only Client comments appear on a review link.
