Track deliverables on a Kanban board.
Each column is a status.
See where every deliverable stands at a glance, and move work forward without updating the same status in two places.
By the end, you’ll have switched Assets to Kanban, moved a deliverable to In review, checked that the deliverable changed in its project, and narrowed the board to your own open work.
Before you start
- Assets in your workspace. To see deliverable cards, a project with deliverables that have their files attached. See “Plan client deliverables, deadlines, and owners.”
- To move a deliverable’s card: a role that can edit projects. Owner, Project Manager and Media Producer can by default.
Watch the walkthrough
Track every deliverable on a Kanban board. Each column is a status, and moving a card changes it.
Open Assets and switch the view to Kanban. Each column is one of your workspace statuses. Empty statuses wait in a row above the board.
A card in a project shows the project, the deliverable it fulfills, and who it's assigned to. The days count is time in the current status, not a deadline.
The billboard is ready for review. Drag it by the handle to In review.
Open the card details. This card is managed by its deliverable. The column and the deliverable's status are the same field, so changing one changes the other.
Follow the link to the deliverable. In the project, it's In review too.
A file outside a project is an independent asset with its own status.
Move to status works on any card. On a phone, it's how you move cards.
Assigned to me shows just your cards.
Hide done takes delivered work off the board.
In short: Kanban is a view of your assets, with one column per status. For a deliverable, the column is its status. Drag by the handle, or use Move to status. And the days count is time in status, not a deadline.

One status, seen as a board.
Alex Morgan is working on the Harbor & Pine bottle launch. Three deliverables are in progress: the billboard key visual, a 30-second launch spot and a square social post. Alex opens the board, moves the billboard to review, and checks that the project shows the same status.
Kanban is a view of your assets, not a separate task tracker. Each column is a workspace status. For an asset that fulfills a deliverable, the column is the deliverable’s status, so moving the card moves the deliverable. Sign in to YetOnePro and open Assets to follow along.
- 01
Switch Assets to Kanban
Open Assets and click the view switcher next to the title, for example Masonry. Choose Kanban. The board shows one column for each status that has cards, such as In production, In review, Client review and Delivered.
Statuses with no cards wait in the Empty statuses row above the board, so the board stays compact.
- 02
Read a card
A card for an asset in a project shows the project, the deliverable it fulfills and who it’s assigned to, for example “Harbor & Pine bottle launch ↳ Billboard key visual” and “Alex Morgan.”
The days count, such as “0d in status,” is how long the card has been in its current status. It’s not a deadline: deadlines live on the deliverable in the project.
- 03
Drag the card by its handle
When the billboard is ready for review, grab the card by its handle, Drag to change status, and drop it in the In review column.
Who can move deliverable cards. Moving a card that belongs to a deliverable changes the project, so it needs a role that can edit projects. Owner, Project Manager and Media Producer can by default. Without it, the card says Status managed in project · read-only. - 04
Open the card details
Click ⋯ on the card. The details panel shows the current status and how many days it’s been there. Under Managed by deliverable, it names the deliverable and the project, and tells you: Changing this status also changes the deliverable.
The column and the deliverable’s status are the same field. Change one, and the other changes with it.
- 05
Check the deliverable in the project
Click the deliverable’s name in the panel. The project opens on that deliverable, and its status is In review too. There’s nothing to update twice.
- 06
Know the independent assets
Not every card belongs to a project. Open the details of a file outside a project, here northstar-bottle-campaign-v2.png. The panel says Independent asset: This asset has its own workflow status. Moving it changes only the asset.
- 07
Use Move to status
In the card details, choose Move to status… and pick a status from the list, for example In review. Press Escape to close the panel. The card moves to its new column.
On a phone. Cards don’t drag on a small screen, and the columns scroll sideways. Tap ⋯ on the card and choose Move to status… to move work there. - 08
Show just your cards
Click Assigned to me in the toolbar. The board shows only the cards assigned to you. Click it again to see everyone’s work.
- 09
Hide finished work
Turn on Hide done to take delivered work off the board. The Delivered column goes away, and what’s left is the work still in motion.
Delivered is special. Dropping a deliverable card in Delivered asks you to confirm with Complete this deliverable?, and only a project reviewer can move accepted work back out. See “Mark a deliverable as done, and know who can undo it.”In short: Kanban is a view of your assets, with one column per status. For a deliverable, the column is its status. Drag by the handle, or use Move to status. And the days count is time in status, not a deadline.
Check the result
- Assets shows the Kanban view, with one column per status that has cards.
- The deliverable card sits in its new column, and the deliverable in the project shows the same status.
- Cards outside a project keep their own status.
- Assigned to me and Hide done narrow the board to your open work.
If it didn’t work
There’s no drag handle on my phone.
On a small screen, cards don’t drag. Tap ⋯ on the card and choose Move to status… instead.
A card says “Status managed in project · read-only.”
The card belongs to a deliverable, and your role can’t edit projects. Ask an Owner, Project Manager or Media Producer to move it.
I can’t move a card out of Delivered.
Delivered deliverables are accepted work. Only a project reviewer, by default an Owner or Project Manager, can return them to work. See “Mark a deliverable as done, and know who can undo it.”
A status column is missing.
Statuses with no cards wait in the Empty statuses row above the board. Check your filters too: Hide done takes the Delivered column off the board.
Is the days count a deadline?
No. It’s how long the card has been in its current status. Deadlines live on the deliverable in the project.
